Displays of Local Artists Planned
The first in a series of local artists will go on display September 2, 2014 at the Hermiston Public Library. Sandra Spencer will have several of her works on the library walls throughout the month of September.
During the next several months the library will be hosting several very talented local artists. These presentations are an effort to provide the community with access to works in a variety of mediums created by artists that reside within the community. The library will display the work of a different artist each month. The displays are currently scheduled to run through the end of the year.
Sandra Spencer, the first local artist, moved to the Hermiston area in 2006. Sandra makes her living as an artist working primarily in the medium of oils using a palette knife. Sandra's works range from the whimsical to the sublime. She was an invited artist for the Woof Art of the Dog Show at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona, Florida. To see more of Sandra's work you can visit her webpage at http://www.sandraspencerart.com.
